THE GREAT COMMISSION
From the beginning of First Baptist, there has been a desire to fulfill the Great Commission as told to us in Matthew 28 and reach our world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is our mandate and we are committed to fulfilling His directive through our local ministries and a worldwide missions program.
Jesus came and said to them: All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.
Today, our Great Commission team numbers over 45 active missionary families and agencies around the world as well as right here in the USA. Many of our missionaries are involved in the following:
- Church planting
- Specialized services that include children's ministries, mission care, medical missions, Bible translation, sports, technology, and more
- Educational endeavors
Many of our folks give their time and talents to local ministries such as:
- Child Evangelism Fellowship: 5-Day Clubs, Oakland County Fair
- Grace Centers of Hope
- Next Steps Pregnancy Center, Pontiac, MI
- Freedge Program in Rochester, MI
- Samaritans Purse/Operation Christmas Child
- Trunk or Treat and Vacation Bible School for kids
- Rochester Christmas Parade
- Area camps and ministries
If you would like more information about our Local Outreach Programs or desire to become involved in one, please reach out to Pastor Tim Brokke.
Each year we invest in mission trips. This provides an opportunity for our church family to share in "real" missions. We have partnered with the following:
- Construction for Worldwide Evangelism
- Opportunities to be a part of Youth & Adult mission trips both locally and internationally are made known as trips become available.
