We love children at First Baptist! The children’s ministry of First Baptist exists to glorify God by partnering with and equipping parents to lead children to embrace Jesus as Lord and Savior and to pursue God with their whole heart. As part of our aim to lovingly and safely teach our children, all of our children’s teachers and helpers are screened and approved through our Child Abuse Prevention Policy (CAPP). Our nursery and preschool departments are provided during all regularly scheduled services. The children’s ministry schedule is detailed below.
Upon arrival, we encourage you to check your children in at the Kids' Check-In Kiosk. The kiosk is located just inside the main entrance of the church. You will be given a name tag for your child with the contact information that you provide in the event that we need to contact you while they are in class.
Preschool & Children's Church - 10:00 AM: Preschool is available for kids aged 2-5 years. Children's Church is for kids K-Grade 5 and runs simultaneously with our 10 AM Sunday Worship Service. Typical components of this gathering include worship, teaching, and activities.
Sunday School - 11:15 AM: Classes are available for children ages 2 to grade 12. Please visit the Welcome Center for class locations and more information.
Nursery: The nursery ministry is provided during all of our Sunday ministries for infants up to 2 years old. We trust that parents will find the nursery a safe and welcoming place for their children to be while they worship.
Children everywhere look forward to summer. At First Baptist, we offer two big events for our children:
- A week of summer camp at Lincoln Lake in Gowen, MI (for kids entering grade 2 through entering grade 6)
- Vacation Bible School - several days filled with Bible stories, games, crafts, and snacks
Awana is a ministry for ages 3 - 5th grade that meets Sunday evenings from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. Our Awana program begins in September and continues through April.
